Swim Lessons

Click HERE to register your child for the 2026 Season of Swim Lessons at the North Fork Pool!

Swim lessons provide a foundation of confidence and safety in and around the water. For children, learning to swim at an early age instills a sense of self-assurance, helping them feel comfortable and secure in aquatic environments. Adults, too, can benefit from swim lessons as they gain the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate pools, lakes, and oceans safely. Building confidence in the water can open up a world of opportunities for fun and recreation, while also providing peace of mind knowing that you and your loved ones are equipped with essential water safety skills.

According to the National Safe Kids Campaign, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death to children ages one through 14.

It is absolutely crucial that all kids know how to swim at a young age.

Parent & Tot Hour

Parent & Tot Hour (6 months - 3 years) is held in the wader pool.

Levels

  • Level 1 is taught in the wader pool AND the shallow end of the big pool. Level 1 is intended to help our youngest swimmers explore and find trust in the water. Parents are asked to stay off the pool deck, so your child needs to be ready to enter the pool without a parent.
  • Level 2 is taught in the shallow end of the big pool. Independent swim is the goal of Level 2. Children need to be ready to be brave and attempt floats, glides, and swimming without support. As long as they're willing to try, we will get them there!
  • Level 3 is taught in the deep end of the big pool. Students will need to be comfortable in water where they cannot touch. Level 3 focuses on introducing the correct techniques of the main swimming strokes and treading water.
  •  Level 4 is taught in 2 lap lanes in the middle of the pool. Students are expected to be able to swim a continuous 25 yards (across the length of the pool.) The goals are to build endurance, fine tune stroke technique, and explore diving. This can be a great workout, kids usually swim 400-500 yards each day.
